On December 12th, Mion Mukaichi, the 3rd General Manager of AKB48, announced her graduation from the group, scheduled for spring 2026. The news was shared via the official AKB48 blog during the “Koko Kara Da” theater performance.

Born on January 29, 1998, in Saitama, Mukaichi joined AKB48 as a 15th-generation member. She first entered the senbatsu lineup in November 2014 with the single “Kibouteki Refrain”. In April 2019, she became the 3rd General Manager and later stepped down from the role in March 2024.

In her heartfelt message, Mukaichi reflected on her 12.5-year journey with AKB48, describing it as her entire youth. She expressed gratitude for the unforgettable experiences, from center positions in singles to leading the group as General Manager, and witnessing the transition from the early days of AKB48 to its current generation. She credited her long idol career to the support of fellow members, staff, and, most importantly, her devoted fans.

Mukaichi emphasized that she hopes to repay everyone who has supported her while leaving something meaningful for the younger members. Fans are encouraged to celebrate her remaining performances and cherish her final moments on stage. Her graduation marks the end of an era for one of AKB48’s most influential figures, and her contributions will leave a lasting legacy within the group.
